- Eat “pastel de nata” at Pasteis de Belem – egg tart**

Day 3: Sintra Day Trip

Day 4: Lisbon > Madeira
- Fly Lisbon > Madeira** we rented a car on the island
- Be sure you rent from the airport! We ended up renting from a downtown location and had to take a city bus into the city to get our car.
- Drive to Viewpoint: Cabo Girao (sea overlook)
- Monte Cable Cars (open 9am – 5:30pm)

Day 5: Central Madeira – Hike Pico do Areeiro to Pico Ruivo
- This is rated as the most beautiful hike in Madeira, you need 6-8 hours to complete and must be in good physical condition.

- Hike: Levada Das 25 Fontes/Risco (you’ll need 3-4 hours and will see waterfalls, lagoon, and beautiful levadas)

- We booked the Calem Caves Wine Tour/Tasting at 3:20pm, it was fabulous and a great place for souvenir Port 🙂

- Livraria Lello (old bookstore), next to Porto University (Hogwarts inspiration)
- Tower of Clerigos
- Cross upper deck of Luiz I bridge by foot and watch the sunset at Serra do Pilar
- Majestic Café – where JK Rowling wrote the first HP book! (open til 11:30pm)

Day 9: Porto > Lisbon
- Crystal Palace Gardens – opens at 8am
- We took the 10:15am Rede Expressos Bus from Porto > Lisboa Oriente
- That night in Lisbon, we bought tickets to see Sporting Clube de Portugal!

Day 10: Lisbon
- Tour the Alfama Neighborhood (Fado restaurant/music)
- Start at Castelo de Jorge, and get lost!
- Take the 28 historic tram (24 hour pass for 2 euro), stops at “Portas Sol”
- Coffee at Portas do Sol
- Feira de Ladra flea market
- Sunsets in the area:
